Richard Mosse, with commissioner / curator Anna O'Sullivan from Kilkenny's Butler Gallery, has been selected to represent Ireland at the 55th Venice Art Biennale, 2013, supported by Culture Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland. Mosse will show a new work, The Enclave, an immersive five-screen video installation shot on 16mm infrared film in eastern Congo. The piece will involve sound by composer Ben Frost, cinematography by Trevor Tweeten, and will be edited by Melody London. The Enclave will be exhibited at Fondaco Marcello, San Marco 3415 (Calle dei Garzoni), in Venice from 1 June – 24 November, 2013.
The Enclave, an artist's book
Aperture Foundation will publish The Enclave, an artist's book composed of photographs by Mosse, stills from the 16mm motion picture footage, a 7-inch vinyl EP by Ben Frost, and an essay by Jason Stearns, which will be launched at the opening of the 55th Venice Biennale on May 30th, 2012.
The first edition of Infra, published by Aperture Foundation and Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, has almost sold through. Copies can be bought directly from Aperture, at quality bookstores, or online through sellers such as Amazon.

A solo exhibition of Infra will be on show at Galería Leyendecker, Santra Cruz, Tenerife, opening Dec 14th, 2012.
Mosse is currently an artist in residence at Berlin's prestigious Künstlerhaus Bethanien until Dec 31, 2012.
